Dealing With Anxiety When It Happens

A certain amount of anxiousness or anxiety is a natural part of life, but if your anxiety symptoms begin to rule your your entire day, you may need to start looking for treatment of them. Most people are concerned and are nervous or afraid when looking at a situation that is stressful. It is understood to be the body’s normal response when it feels in danger.

Although anxiety is not fun, it’s not always bad to experience it. Anxiety helps a person to stay focused and alert, and help you find motivation. However, if you are always experiencing anxiety and it becomes too much for you to handle, it can hinder relationships and other areas of your life. This is when you should consider the fact that you may have an anxiety disorder and seek anxiety or panic attack cures.

Anxiety or panic symptoms can be different for everyone. While some people will deal with severe panic attacks with no warning, still others might just get panicky at the thought of something. While other people may experience constant anxiety where they trouble themselves about absolutely everything. There is, however, one symptom that all sufferers have: constant or intense fear or worry about things that most people wouldn’t think twice about.

Anxiety manifests itself through emotional symptoms that occur on top of the physical anxiety symptoms
* Having trouble concentrating
* Having feelings of apprehension
* Feeling restless
* Feeling tense
* Fearing the worst
* Looking for signs of a threat
* Tendency to lose your train of thought

On top of these emotional panic symptoms, there are also physical symptoms that accompany an anxiety attack. Because there are so many, people often think these symptoms are caused by a medical illness. Some physical symptoms of panic attacks are:

* Profuse sweating
* Severe headaches
* Palpitations
* Nausea and /or dizziness
* Insomnia
* Urinating frequently and/or diarrhea
* Uncontrollable tremors or twitches
* Muscle tension
* Tired
* Shortness of breath

Most panic attacks peak within 10 minutes, and rarely last more than half an hour. This may not seem like a long time, but it does to the person experiencing the symptoms. The anxiety experienced during the attacks can be so intense that there is a persistent feeling of impending death. The physical symptoms can be so horrible that a lot of people believe they are experiencing a cardiac arrest.
